Sometimes the algorithm serves up exactly the sort of film or series I want, like it has been quietly reading my digital diary. Other times it decides that because I watched one documentary about space, I must now want seventeen shows about competitive cake decorating in zero gravity. Well, thatโs not supposed to happen!
The interesting bit is how much streaming has changed discovery. Years ago, people found films through TV schedules, video shops, friends, magazines, or pure accident. Now we get shiny rows of โBecause you watchedโฆโ suggestions, but I wonder if that makes us explore more or traps us in a tiny entertainment bubble.
Do you trust streaming recommendations, or do you still prefer finding movies and shows the old-fashioned way?
