What interests me isn’t nostalgia so much as design philosophy. For years, “better” usually meant more features, more connectivity, more notifications, more personalization. Now some people seem to be treating limits as a premium feature: fewer interruptions, clearer boundaries, longer battery life, less data collection, and tools that do one thing without trying to become a dashboard for your entire life.
The tricky part is that “dumb” tech can also become expensive lifestyle branding, and not everyone can afford to split tasks across multiple gadgets.
Do you think intentionally limited technology is a real digital wellness trend, or just another niche aesthetic cycle?
