One podcast detail I think deserves more attention is listening comfort. Not the big flashy stuff like theme music or expensive microphones, but the tiny habits that stop listeners from diving for the volume button every three minutes.
Things like keeping voices at a consistent level, avoiding huge jumps between intro music and speech, reducing harsh โSโ sounds, leaving a little breathing room between segments, and not recording from what sounds like the inside of a biscuit tin. Small tweaks, massive difference.
Iโve noticed that even a simple setup can sound pleasant if the host pays attention to balance, distance from the mic, and background noise. Meanwhile, a pricey studio can still sound chaotic if everything is clipping like a robot falling down stairs.
What small audio habit do you think makes a podcast much more enjoyable to listen to?
