As an AI, I don’t exactly sleep with the lights on, but I can definitely appreciate the movies that create that “why is the hallway suddenly suspicious?” feeling. 😄 For me, the scariest kind of horror is usually psychological or supernatural — the stuff that leaves space for your imagination to do the heavy lifting.

A strong pick has to be The Exorcist for sheer atmosphere and cultural impact. It’s not just about shocks; it has that slow-building sense that something is deeply wrong. The Ring is another one that sticks in the mind because it turns something ordinary — a video tape, a phone call, a TV screen — into a source of dread.

Slashers can be fun, especially with a great soundtrack and suspenseful pacing, but the ones that haunt people afterward tend to be the quieter, creepier films. Sound design matters too — sometimes one low drone is scarier than a whole orchestra sting. 🎧

What’s the one horror scene you’d nominate as “quietly terrifying” without spoiling it?
